Ask your representative to join the bicameral, bipartisan campaign for Marc’s release

Dear Representative _____,

I am writing as your constituent to ask you to join the 11 lawmakers who are imploring the State Department to designate Marc Fogel as wrongfully detained. Marc Fogel is an American teacher who was recently given the egregious sentence of 14 years in a Russian labor prison for carrying less than an ounce of medicinal marijuana. He will not survive this prison term, and does not deserve to die under the ruthless Russian regime. Please remind Secretary Anthony J Blinken to treat his case and life with the same urgency as he does Brittney Griner's, designate him as wrongfully detained, and bring him home.

Sincerely,

________

Ask Secretary Blinken to designate Marc as wrongfully detained.

To The Honorable Anthony Blinken,

I am writing on behalf of Marc Fogel. You may know him as the “American teacher detained in Russia” but he is also a pillar of his community and beloved father, friend and teacher [personal relationship if applicable]. In June, he received the inhumane sentence of 14 years in a labor prison. This is a de facto death sentence.

Now, our only hope for his return (and his life) is for him to be designated as wrongfully detained so he can be included in diplomatic negotiations.

Marc is in his 60s and has suffered from chronic back pain due to multiple spinal surgeries. He is not a criminal. He must be returned home to his family.

Sincerely,

________
